Why Good Nutrition And A Healthy Diet Is Still So Important!

Don’t forget that good nutrition always matters!

You may think you can supplement a bad diet by taking the right combination of vitamins and minerals. The truth is, though, the best way to receive the right nutrients is not through dietary supplements but by eating a varied and healthy diet.

There’s nothing wrong, of course, with supplementing a healthy diet with the right vitamins and minerals. But you should never rely on these dietary supplements as a replacement for healthy eating habits.

For instance, the best source of vitamin C is citrus fruits. You can get the vitamin from supplements, of course. But it’s far healthy to eat oranges and grapefruits.

The same holds true for minerals. Take iron. You can take iron supplements. But it’s far better to get the right amount of iron by eating heart-healthy leafy green vegetables. One of the best sources of natural iron is spinach. You’ll feel good after eating it, too.

Eating a nutritious diet is not only good for your body and mind, it’s also a benefit to your bank account. If you get the majority of your nutrients from a healthy diet, you won’t have to draw down your bank account buying bottle after bottle of expensive dietary supplements.

So next time you’re tempted to fill your shopping cart with vitamin tablets and bottles of minerals, take a close look at your diet.

Have you been eating enough foods that are packed with healthy nutrients?

If not, put away those iron pills and buy a bag of fresh spinach instead!
